The Albuquerque Museum of Art

Yesterday was a fun filled day of adventure and we started it off with a free museum pass. I had never been to the art museum here in ABQ and I decided I was up for a little inspiration. They had a special exhibit about Synesthesia (which is Koch's favorite topic) where artists would interpret their feelings or responses in color. The art was actually pretty cool.

If you don't know, synesthesia is a neurological condition that can cause different experiences. Some people can associate colors to sounds and smells. Some people can organize numbers and words in a specific way. There are a lot of variations but each one is like a super power.

Anyway, other than the synesthesia exhibit I wasn't too impressed with the rest of the museum. The only other cool part for me was looking at the Spanish conquest era of Southwest culture. They had some pretty cool armor and relics from that period and it was fun to look at. There was also a section of New Mexican art but I wasn't too into that stuff.

I took some pictures, which wasn't quite Kosher, and you can see them after the break.
