Live Blogging: Santa Fe Day 1

Today was filled with action and excitement. It had snowed the night before our arrival and as usual New Mexico was not prepared. It's like there is no such thing as weather forecasting in this state. Either that or they just don't care. Anyways the drive was slow and tedious but we got to the mountain and all was great.

There was never a large crowd on any of the lifts and all the trails I did were good runs. There was one that led into a long flat trail that forced me to remove my board and walk a bit before there was a downhill again. That was annoying and Jay was mad about that. Everything else was great though.

After a fun filled day we headed to the hotel and checked in. We got hooked up for X-mas and are chillaxing in the Hilton. The hotel is great. Before we could enjoy our stay we had to head to a laundromat to dry our clothes. We walk in and head to a dryer and put our stuff in and throw a dollar on for 20 min of drying time. The entire time we are doing this we both notice that everyone in there is staring at us. We walk out and get some dinner. 20 min later we head straight to our dryer and again everyone is staring at us. We take our clothes and realize its one of those drop-off service places. We basically just took their job from them. I don't know about you, but that is one funny situation. Why are you not laughing? Ahhh, I guess you had to be there...

Driving up the mountain was annoying this morning cause the snow was still covering the ground, but should be worse even tomorrow because the snow melted and I'm expecting that it will be frozen in the morning. Thats New Mexico for you. Can't wait for more snowboarding fun tomorrow, but first I must survive Jason's snoring which I hope is nothing like my mom's!
